5 Days...

Ok, so I've been in Oregon for almost 5 whole days now. I'm pretty much used to the way things are now - at least to a certain extent. We went down to the beach today to see some of the things we've been learning about in lecture. It was high tide, so there wasn't as much, but there were some way cool things to look at. :)

This shows our lack of privacy within the dorms. Believe it or not, those numbers are our room numbers. We are all actually sitting on top of our walls. It's almost like they ran out of funding and couldn't make the walls actually extend to the ceiling. Those lights down the center are the only ones that we have - other than desk lamps. Needless to say, they don't provide a whole lot of light to our rooms. But really, it's not all that bad (except in the morning when you want to sleep and everyone else is waking up). WISH YOU WERE HERE!!

So, we got here and saw this nifty little store. We decided to go check it out. It turned out that it wasn't much more than a slightly larger gas station. But there were t-shirts that said "Davy Jones Locker - the cultural mecca of Charleston". I got a pretty big kick outta that.

This is a view of an awesome sailboat. This is where we went today to study.

We found a chitin and took him off the rock. Cool huh??

This snail is eating that seaweed. This is an ecologically important event and therefore is going to be in my photo journal.

So, this was super awesome. We saw a seal pup. Isn't he the cutest thing ever??

  2. No worries!! There are plenty more pictures to come. In one of my classes my grade is almost entirely from a photo journal that I have to put together - with at least 100 photos. :)
