A little introduction...

...to the newest member of our family.
Zeus, the betta fish.
Isn't he so pretty?

(P.S. Sorry the quality isn't that great...I tried to get some better ones but had more important things to get done.)

I'm taking an evolutionary biology lab.
For one of the labs we were analyzing behavior, and we used betta fish.
In case you don't know, they are also known as Siamese fighting fish.
They are way cool.  Their mating strategy is to defend their territory and then mate with the females that come into it.  This defense includes really cool displays.  We analyzed this in lab.

What does this have to do with our new fish?
Well, after the lab they gave the fish away.
And so naturally I took one.  Because I love fish.

So David and I have taken on a new level of responsibility.  The fish.  Not too intense, but he sure is good company.

  1. lol that's funny. Betta fish are the ones that die fast right? At least, we could never keep those things alive for very long!

  2. I'm not really sure how long they live...I've never actually owned one. Haha. We'll see. Hopefully he doesn't die TOO fast.
